Examination
There are ball bearings at the outer ends of the suspension arm and support arms.
1. Jack up the vehicle and place it securely on axle stands.
2. Visually inspect the dust boot between the ball joint and the subframe or steering knuckle for cuts, tears, or grease leakage. If any of these symptoms are present, replace the suspension arm or support arm - the ball joints cannot be replaced individually.
3. Place a large lever under the ball joint and try to push it up. Then install the same arm between the suspension arm and the subframe or knuckle. If you see or feel any play during the check, it means that the ball joint is worn out.
4. Ask an assistant to grab the wheel from above and below and rock it in the direction along the axis. Feel the ball joint stud nut. If you feel play, then it is possible that the ball joint stud is worn out or the hole in the subframe or steering knuckle is broken.
5. If there is a similar problem, replace the subframe or swing arm, which is inseparable from the rack body, as well as the ball joint.
Replacement
None of these ball joints can be replaced or serviced separately. If one of them is worn out, the entire lever should be replaced.
