After disconnecting the pressure pipes, be sure to plug the holes in the fuel injection pump and injectors.

Models with M51 engine

Assembly of the injector

1 - Nozzle holder

1 - Nozzle holder
2 — Nozzle body
3 - Supply hole
4 — Compression chamber
5 — Injector needle
6 — Return fuel line

1. The injector assembly details are indicated.

2. Remove the intake manifold (see chapter Engine).

3. Remove the pipe holder and disconnect the return fuel hoses.

Replace the removed hoses.

Replace the removed hoses.

4. Using a special split key, loosen the union nut securing the tube to the injector being removed. Close the hole to prevent dirt from getting in. Loosen the union nut securing the corresponding tube to the high-pressure fuel pump, holding it from turning by the delivery valve if necessary.

5. Unscrew the injector assembly using tool No.13 5 320.

The 4th cylinder injector with the needle lift sensor (wire) must not be disassembled.

6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Models with M57 engine

Protect the generator from exposure to working fluids.

1. Remove the intake manifold (see chapter Engine).

1. Remove the intake manifold (see chapter Engine).

2. Using a spanner, loosen the union nuts (1) securing the pressure pipes (2) to the injector (4) and loosen the nuts on the fuel distribution line. Loosen the nut (3) and remove the injectors.

2. Using a spanner, loosen the union nuts (1) securing the pressure pipes (2) to the injector (4)…

3. If the sealing ring (1) is not left on the removed injector (2), remove it from the cylinder head. Pay attention to the position of the flange (3).

4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Before installation, clean the injector channels. Tighten the nuts in the following sequence:

  • Tighten all pressure line union nuts by hand;
  • Tighten the union nuts on the injectors to the required torque;
  • Tighten the union nuts on the distribution line and on the high-pressure fuel pump.

5. If more than two injectors are replaced, the injector characteristic field must be corrected using a diagnostic tool.

Models with M67 engine

Below is the procedure for removing the injectors using the example of the left bank of cylinders (Nos. 5 - 8).

1. Turn off the ignition.

1. Turn off the ignition.

2. Loosen the union nuts securing the pressure pipes (3) on the injector and on the fuel distribution line using a slotted open-end wrench.

At the same time, hold the unit from turning by the pressure pipe fitting on the nozzle.

3. Remove the pressure pipes.

After disconnecting the pressure pipes, be sure to plug the injector and pressure pipe openings.

4. Press the connector (1) down, press the lock (2) and disconnect the connector (1).

4. Press the connector (1) down, press the lock (2) and disconnect the connector (1).

5. Unscrew the injector mounting bolts and screw in a special tool instead of the bolts, using which you can remove the injectors.

6. If the sealing ring (1) there is none left on the removed injector (2), remove it from the cylinder head.

7. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Before installation, clean the injector channels.

8. If more than three injectors are replaced, the injector characteristic field must be corrected using a diagnostic tool.
