Removal and installation of electromagnetic valves, regulators and sensors (BMW 7 Series E38)

1. Location of electromagnetic valves, regulators and sensors.

2. Remove the hydraulic control unit (see section Removal and installation the ATF filter and hydraulic unit).

3. Disconnect connectors No.1-5 from the solenoid valves.

4. Unscrew bolts No.6-9 and remove the bracket (10).



When installing, the convex side of the bracket must face the solenoid valves

6. Remove the solenoid valve (6), disconnect the connectors (1 and 2) and unscrew the bolt (3).

7. Remove the bracket (4) and take out solenoid valve No.6.

When installing, the concave side of the bracket (4) must face the valve block. As a distinguishing feature, solenoid valve No.6 has a white housing in the connector part.

8. To remove the sensors, disconnect the corresponding connector (1) and unscrew the bolts (2 and 3).
