Adjusting the position of the front door glass (BMW X5 E53)

In an ideal condition, the glass is recessed (sunk) along the front and upper perimeter in its guide (2, see Fig. 18.78) is not less than 6.0 mm.



Adjusting the position of the front glass (right/left) the doors must be carried out in the following order. Using the device "51.3.080" (fig. 18.76), measure the depth of the glass by lowering the glass, installing the device and raising the glass.



To adjust, it is necessary to partially disconnect the sound insulation only in the nut areas (1 and 3, Fig. 18.77). Do not remove the side airbag. Just loosen the nuts (1 and 3). Close the door window completely using the window lifter (2) and, if necessary, move the window upwards until it reaches the ideal position.





Tighten the M6 nuts (1 and 3) to a torque of 8.0 N·m (0.8 kgf·m).
