The air conditioner power must be checked in the following order.
Prepare the MoDiC or DIS tester for operation, connect it to the car and display the evaporator temperature on the display screen. Install a thermometer 5 cm from the cabin ceiling, and bring its display outside the cabin. Warm up the engine and bring it to partial load mode (rotation speed of about 2000 min⁻¹).
Close all doors and windows, set the recirculation mode. Select the air distribution mode for the footwell and the glass heating mode. Set the temperature and fan supply to maximum. Warm up the air in the cabin to 50°C and turn on the air conditioner compressor. After 2–3 minutes, the evaporator temperature on the display should be about 10°C.
If the temperature is not reached, pump out the R134a refrigerant from the air conditioner and check its quantity, which should be 440±10 g (see passport), if necessary, restore it.
