Replacing the stabilizer bar mounting struts (BMW X5 E53)

The replacement of the stabilizer bar mounting struts must be carried out in the following order. Unscrew the nut (arrow, Fig. 14.60).



Unscrew the nut (7, see Fig. 14.59) and disconnect the stabilizer bar mounting post (5) from the rocker arm (9). Remove the stabilizer bar mounting post.



When replacing the strut, install washers (8), replace nut (7) and tighten it to a torque of 100 N·m (10.0 kgf·m). Replace nut (6) securing the stabilizer bar to the strut (5) and tighten it to a torque of 100 N·m (10.0 kgf·m).
