Caution: On a vehicle with an air spring, remove the air supply system fuse to prevent it from being triggered and to relieve the air pressure in the system.
Remove the rear additional muffler. On a vehicle with an M57 engine, remove the exhaust system and disconnect the rear heat shield. Remove the parking brake cable from the holders and disconnect the shock absorber from the rocker arm.
Support the rear axle beam with devices "00.2.030", "00.2.040", "33.4.221" and "33.4.226" (fig. 14.43).

Unscrew the left and right bolts completely and screw them back in four turns (arrows, see Fig. 14.45). Unscrew the bolt of the rubber-metal hinge to be replaced and lower the jack.

Assemble the device "33.4.140", consisting of devices "33.4.148", "33.4.149" and "33.4.145" (fig. 14.47). On the device "33.4.148" fix the plates in accordance with the diameter of the rubber-metal hinge - "A", for a diameter of 80 mm, and "B", for a diameter of 95 mm.

Unscrew the handle (1, Fig. 14.48), if necessary, install the attachment (3) on the "33.4.145" device, securing it with a new screw (2).

Install the device "33.4.140" with devices "33.4.155", "33.4.156" and "33.4.158" into the hinge grooves (dark arrows, Fig. 14.49).

Make sure that the device correctly supports the rear axle beam bushing. Using an industrial hair dryer (with a maximum air heating temperature of 600°C), heat the hinge bushing for 2 minutes with hot air to a temperature of about 80°C and remove the rubber-metal hinge (light arrow), turning the nut (1).
Attention! Arrows (1, Fig. 14.50) or the stops (2) of the middle bushing of the joint being installed must be located parallel to the vehicle axis (F). The maximum permissible deviation is no more than ±7°.

Lubricate the new rubber-metal hinge with a compound such as Circolight. Using the tools "33.4.155", "33.4.156", "33.4.157" and "33.4.159" (fig. 14.51), press in the rubber-metal hinge.

Damaged threads in the bushings on the body side can be repaired using threaded inserts made of wire spiral M14x1.5x18. Threaded inserts made of wire spiral should be installed so that they do not protrude beyond the threads.
Bolt (M14x1.5x138) tighten the hinge mountings to a torque of 163 N·m (16.3 kgf·m).
