Replacing the wheel bearing support (BMW X5 E53)

            0

Removal of the wheel bearing support must be carried out in the following order:
  • remove axle shaft;
  • turn off the air suspension and release the pressure;
  • remove brake disc;
  • remove the coil spring;
  • disconnect the parking brake cable from the release mechanism;
  • disconnect the stabilizer bar mounting strut from the anti-roll bar;
  • disconnect the shock absorber from the swing arm;
  • remove integral lever;
  • disconnect the suspension guide arm from the wheel bearing support;
  • disconnect the suspension wishbone from the wheel bearing support;
  • remove the wheel bearing support. The installation of the wheel bearing support should be carried out in the reverse order, and it is necessary to:
  • turn on the air suspension and fill it with air;
  • adjust the parking brake;
  • carry out measurements of the chassis parameters.

If the bearing support is replaced, the brake mechanism protective cover must be repositioned.
