Replacing the lower ball joint of the integral control arm (BMW X5 E53)

Replacement of the lower ball joint of the integral lever in the bearing support must be carried out in the following order. Prepare the devices "33.3.333", "33.4.191", "33.4.192", "33.4.193" and "33.4.194" and remove the integral lever (4, see Fig. 14.3). Support the wheel bearing support with a garage jack and disconnect the shock absorber from the rocker arm.



Remove the retaining ring (1, Fig. 14.45) and press out the ball joint using the tools "33.3.333". "33.4.191", "33.4.192" and "33.4.193", with the splined side of the "33.4.191" device facing the wheel bearing support.



Using the devices "33.3.333", "33.4.191", "33.4.192" and "33.4.193", press in a new ball joint of the integral lever (1, Fig. 14.46) until it stops in the wheel bearing support and install a new retaining ring.





Measure the parameters of the rear axle.
