The anti-roll bar must be replaced in the following order: Remove the wheel, unscrew the nuts (6) and disconnect the struts (5) from the anti-roll bar on both sides.
On the left side of the car, apply a mounting mark to the stabilizer with paint. Unscrew the nuts (4) holding the brackets (3) of the stabilizer mount (1) and remove it. Check and, if necessary, replace the rubber-metal hinges (2).
When installing the stabilizer, position it correctly, the mark or nomenclature number "BMW" should be on the left side of the car.
Replace the self-locking nuts (M8) with flange securing the retaining brackets and tighten them to a torque of 19 N·m (1.9 kgf·m).
Replace the self-locking nuts (M12z1.5) with the flange for fastening the stabilizer strut (5) and tighten them to a torque of 100 N·m (10.0 kgf·m).
