Torsional vibration damper (BMW X5 E53)

The torsional vibration damper is made with two mounting structures and has a diameter from 200 to 270 mm (3. see fig. 3.10).

1 - bolt; 2 - spacer washer; 3 - damper; 4 - star; 5, 10 - bearing shell; 6, 9 - thrust bearing shell; 7 - toothed wheel; 8 - lock bolt; 11 - key; 12 - shaft mark

Permissible axial runout, no more than 0.40 mm. Permissible ovality for all engine models, no more than 0.20 mm.
