
The fan impeller has a diameter of 420 mm and is connected to the coolant pump drive via a viscous coupling.
The viscous coupling is manufactured by Holset or "Fichtel und Sachs". The activation and deactivation of the viscous fan clutch depends on the engine temperature.
Fan switch-on temperature:
- engine model "M62B44" - 91–99°C;
- engine model "M62B46" - 88–96°C.
Fan switch-off temperature 60–65°C.
Axial clearance of the viscous coupling rotor, no more than 0.4 mm.
Radial clearance of the viscous coupling rotor, no more than:
- engine model "M62V44" - 0.65 mm;
- engine model "M62V46" - 0.45 mm.
