Replacement of the pump of a cooling liquid is necessary for carrying out in a following order. Drain the coolant and send it for recycling. Remove fan shroud and electric fan. Remove the alternator drive belt.
Unlock and disconnect loops (1, fig. 5.164) from temperature sensors on the thermostat.
Remove bolt (arrow) and remove the vacuum line clamp. Unlock and disconnect all coolant hoses from coolant pump. Remove bolts (4 things.) and remove the pulley (2).
Remove vibration damper. Mark the coolant pump mounting bolts, unscrew them and remove the pump.
When installing the pump, clean the sealing surfaces on the motor and replace the sealing gasket. Make sure that the centering sleeve is in the correct position. Clean the sealing surfaces on the pump housing and replace the O-rings (1 and 2, fig. 5.165).
Replace both nozzles and lubricate the sealing points with grease to facilitate the sliding of the rubber. The small diameter nozzle is installed with the liquid-cooled generator.
Assemble the engine. Fill the system with coolant, remove air from the system, start the engine, warm it up and check the system for leaks. Check coolant level and top up if necessary.
Note. The spare coolant pump comes without a thermostat and temperature sensors; when installing it, the listed elements should be rearranged from the removed pump.
