Replacing the centering element of the cardan shaft (BMW X5 E53)

The replacement of the centering element of the cardan shaft must be carried out in the following order. Prepare the tools "00.5.500", "11.1.310" and "11.2.030" and remove the propeller shaft.

Fill the centering hole completely (1, Fig. 10.30) thick grease. Using a plastic-faced hammer, hammer the "11.1.310" mandrel into the centering hole. The grease will push out the centering element. Add grease as needed. Remove the centering element and remove the grease from the hole.
