The cruise control allows you to remember and automatically maintain the required speed at a level of at least 30 km/h.

The cruise control allows you to remember and automatically maintain the required speed at a level…

Enabling Tempostat

The cruise control can be switched on after turning the ignition key to position 1. Press button 1. The indicator lamp on the instrument panel will light.

You can use tempostat.

Driving at a given speed, memorizing the speed and acceleration

Press button 2.

The actual speed of movement is entered into the memory of the cruise control, which will be maintained constant. Each subsequent press of the button will increase the speed by 1 km/h.

If you hold button 2 down, the car will accelerate without pressing the accelerator pedal. If you release the button, the speed reached at that moment will be stored in memory and will be maintained at that level.

Slowing down

Press button 3.

If the movement was already in the mode of maintaining a set speed, then each time the button is pressed the speed will decrease by 1 km/h.

If you hold down button 3, when driving in the speed control mode, the throttle opening degree will automatically decrease and the movement will slow down. If you release the button, the speed reached at this point will be remembered and will be maintained at this level.

Tempostat interruption

With the temperature control on, press the button 1. The indicator lamp remains lit. If necessary, you can use the cruise control again.

In addition, the work of the tempostat is automatically interrupted in the following cases:
  • When braking.
  • When disengaging the clutch or when moving the AT selector lever from the position D in position N.
  • For BMW 318i, 320i, 323i, 328i: if the set speed is exceeded for more than 30 s and by more than 16 km/h.
  • For BMW 320d: If the set speed is exceeded for more than 30 sec and more than 16 km/h or decreases by more than 20 km/h.

Recalling speed from memory

Press button 4.

The last entered speed value will be called up, to which it will first be brought, and then will be maintained at the set level. When the ignition key is turned to position 0, the cruise control will switch off, and the entered speed value will be erased.

Turning off the tempostat

After stopping the cruise control, press button 1 again. The indicator lamp will go out and the speed value stored in the memory will be erased.

You cannot use the cruise control if the road is full of turns or if the increased traffic intensity does not allow you to move smoothly, as well as on slippery roads (due to snow, rain, ice) road or weak (gravel, sand) soil.

If the engine braking effect is insufficient when driving downhill, the set speed may be exceeded. On climbs, it may be reduced if the engine power is insufficient.
