Remove the front brake calipers (see section "Brake system").
Remove the brake hose mounting brackets on the telescopic struts without disconnecting the hoses.
Hang the brake calipers to the body using the technological hooks.
Disconnect the steering shaft from the steering gear housing (see section "Steering").
Loosen the nuts securing the upper supports of the telescopic suspension struts to the wheel housings.
Start the engine (best done with a BMW 600 or 7000 slinging device) and tighten the straps without lifting the engine.
Place a garage jack under the front axle crossmember, placing a wooden block underneath it.
Loosen the mounting bolts and disconnect the front axle crossmember from the right and left body side members.
Features of removing the front axle on vehicles with power steering
After removing the brake caliper, unscrew bolt 1 (see photo), move the elastic coupling upwards together with the steering shaft and drain the oil from the hydraulic steering drive.
Disconnect hoses 2 and 3 from the steering gear housing and plug the holes with plugs.
