Install the satellites and the axis of the satellites.
Install the arrow type indicator tool as shown in the photo, and use two screwdrivers to shift the side gear until it stops in the satellites. In this position, set the indicator needle to zero.
Slide the side gear all the way into the differential box and read the indicator.
Subtracting from the obtained value 0.05 mm, get the total thickness of the support and adjusting washers of the side gear.
After installing washers (the support washer is installed with the concave side towards the side gear) the moment of resistance to turning the side gear should not exceed 2 kgf·m.
Repeat the above operations for the other side gear.
Take out from a differential box an axis of satellites and satellites.
Remove the indicator and, screwing in the bolt of the measuring device, against which the indicator leg previously rested, compress the support washers of the side gears installed in the differential box so as to push the gears a distance sufficient to install the satellites and the axis of the satellites.
Insert the satellites and the axis of the satellites and fix with a pin.
Install the driven gear by lubricating the threads of its fastening bolts with a special adhesive such as Loctite AW. If it is difficult to install the driven gear on the differential box, evenly heat the gear to a temperature of 80-100°C. It is forbidden to heat the gear to a temperature above 100°C.
Install the assembled differential into the rear axle housing, install the side cover of the crankcase, evenly tighten the bolts of its fastening to a torque of 2±0.5 kgf·m and measure the moment of resistance to turning (preload) differential box bearings, which for new bearings should be within 14-16 kgf cm.
If the measured torque is less than 14 kgfcm, install a thicker shim under the cap bearing outer race and repeat the above test.
After adjusting the bearing preload, remove the differential from the rear axle housing.
