TCI system
Withdrawal
1. After careful marking, disconnect the high-voltage wires of the ignition coil and spark plugs from the ignition distributor cover (see chapter Car maintenance).
2. Remove #1 spark plug (closest to the front of the engine).
3. Manually crank the engine to Top Dead Center (TDC) piston compression stroke No. 1 (see Part Repair work carried out without removing the engine from the car).
4. Carefully mark the vacuum hoses if more than one fits them to the ignition distributor.
5. Disconnect the vacuum hoses.
6. Disconnect the wires of the primary ignition circuit from the distributor.
7. Mark the position of the slider in relation to the ignition distributor housing (shown by arrow). Also note the position of the ignition distributor housing relative to the engine.
8. Remove the mounting nut or bolt and bracket.
9. Remove the ignition distributor.
Do not crank the engine with the ignition distributor removed.
Installation
Before installing the ignition distributor, make sure the #1 piston is still at TDC on the compression stroke.
1. Insert the ignition distributor into the engine, placing the adjusting bracket over the mounting hole. Do not interfere with the rotation of the distributor axis when installing the ignition distributor.
2. Install the mounting nut or bolt. Before tightening the nut or bolt, the marks previously made on the distributor housing, slider and engine must be aligned.
3. Establish a cover of the distributor of ignition.
4. Attach the wires to the distributor.
5. Connect high voltage spark plug wires.
6. Attach vacuum hoses according to marking.
7. Check ignition timing (see Section Function test and ignition timing adjustment (TCI system)).

2. Use a small spanner to remove the three slider screws.
3. Remove the slider.
Installation
Installation is reverse to removal.
