Ice Warning
When the temperature drops below +3°C, a warning sound signal sounds and the display flashes for a while.
The warning is repeated if, since the last alarm, the temperature has risen to +6°C at least once and then dropped back to +3°C.
Despite the presence of an ice warning system, the possibility of its formation is not ruled out (e.g. on bridges and shaded road sections) also at temperatures above +3°C.
Tachometer
Avoid bringing the engine speed to the values of the red sector of the scale. In this range, the fuel supply is interrupted to protect the engine, which is noticeable by a drop in power.

When the car stops, the arrow returns to zero.

To check the operation of the device, its control lamp lights up for a while when the ignition is turned on.
If the lamp is constantly on, this means that the following amount of fuel remains in the tank:
- approx. 8 l - BMW 520i, 523i, 528i, 525tds
- approx. 10 l - BMW 535i, 540i
Fuel tank capacity information is provided in Specifications.
Different car angle (for example, when driving for a long time on a mountain road) may cause slight fluctuations in instrument readings. Please refuel in time as the ride "to the last drop" may cause damage to the engine or catalytic converter.
Coolant temperature gauge
Arrow on the blue sector
The engine is still cold. The movement should occur at moderate speeds and speeds.
Arrow on the red sector
If the warning lamp flashes or the self-diagnosis display" the message 'Kuhlwassertemperatur" (Coolant temperature), it means that the engine is overheated. In this case, stop immediately and allow the engine to cool down.
Scale zone between colored sectors
Corresponds to normal operating temperature. At high outside temperatures or under heavy engine loads, the arrow may come close to the red sector. Checking the coolant level is performed as recommended Chapters 1.
Upcoming maintenance indicator
The execution of the indicator is different depending on the configuration of your car.
Green Signals
The fewer green lights remaining, the closer the service interval is.
