Removal and installation or replacing the water pump (M54)
1. Remove the alternator drive belt.
Note: The coolant drain plug is located on the outlet side of the cylinder block near the 2nd cylinder.
2. Drain and dispose of the coolant.
Note:
- When installing, it is necessary to replace the sealing gasket.
- Bleed the cooling system and check it for leaks.
Tightening torque: 25 Nm.
3. Unscrew the fastener and remove the pulley.
4. Loosen the water pump mounting bolts.
5. Screw 2 bolts (M 6) into the threaded holes of the water pump and evenly press it out of the timing block.
Note: When installing, it is necessary to replace the O-ring and apply coolant as a lubricant for easier sliding.
6. Installation should be carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.
