Attention:
- When working with oil, fuel and coolant circuits, the generator must be protected from contamination.
- Cover the generator.
- The booster air hoses must be dry and free of grease.
1. Remove the soundproofing casing.
2. Disconnect the upper charge air hose.
3. Drain the coolant.
4. Remove the air conditioning compressor drive belt.
5. Remove the generator drive belt.

6. Loosen the clamp (1) securing the EGR pipe.
7. Unscrew the screw (2).
8. Loosen the bolts (3) and press the heat shield in the direction indicated by the arrow.
9. Remove the EGR pipe.
10. Disconnect the supply line of the heating system.
Note: For vehicles with automatic transmission, remove the EGR cooler.

11. Remove the retainer (1).
12. Remove the retainer (2).
13. Unscrew the bolts (3) on the thermostat housing.
14. Remove the thermostat housing.

Note: The thermostat is built into the housing and can only be replaced as an assembly.
Note: When installing, it is necessary to clean the sealing surfaces. Replace the sealing gasket (1).
15. Assemble the engine.
16. Bleed the cooling system and check it for leaks.
