Thermostat (6. Fig. 3.17) is designed to turn on and off the large circle of circulation of the engine coolant, depending on its temperature state.

The thermostat and its housing are a single unit, installed on the cylinder head through a sealing gasket (7), which is replaced when removing the thermostat housing. The temperature of the beginning of the opening of the main valve is 88±5°C, full - 105°C. The full stroke of the valve plate is 8.0 mm.
