Replacing the steering column lock cylinder (BMW X5 E53)

The steering column shaft lock cylinder must be replaced in the following order. Prepare the "32.3.110" device, remove the ignition lock ring antenna, insert the repair zone key into the ignition lock and turn it to the "R" position (arrow, Fig. 12.53), turning on the radio, windshield wipers, fan.



Insert the "32.3.110" tool into the lock cylinder hole (fig. 12.54). Turn the handle of the device 90° clockwise and remove the lock cylinder.



The installation of the lock cylinder should be carried out in reverse order.
