
The lever (20) for adjusting the position of the steering column with a mechanical drive must be replaced in the following order. Prepare the devices "31.2.200" and "31.2.204". Remove the upper and lower trim casing from the steering column.
Unhook the torsion spring (8, Fig. 12.47) on both sides. Unscrew the nut (1) and remove the thrust bearing (2) and pressure washer (3). Remove the retainer (4).

Using the devices "32.1.200" and "32.1.204" (fig. 12.48), press out (light arrow) clamping device (9) from the adjustment lever (5). Hold the device by the flats with a wrench or grip. Remove the adjustment lever.

When installing, the adjustment lever should face the steering wheel shaft lock and the square head of the clamping device (9, Fig. 12.49) it is necessary to insert it into the hole of the pipe of the steering gear shaft mounting bracket.

Press the clamping device (9) into the adjustment lever (5) using the "32.1.200" device. Fit the retainer (4), pressure washer (3) and thrust bearing (2).
Insert the torsion spring (8) on both sides. Replace the nut (1) and tighten it to a torque of 3.0 N·m (0.3 kgf·m).
