Caution! After installing the steering column lock, it is necessary to check the functions of the ignition switch, turn signals, windshield wipers, etc.
The steering column shaft lock assembly must be replaced in the following order: Remove the upper steering shaft bearing and the ignition lock ring antenna.
On vehicles with automatic transmission, disconnect the traction (arrow, Fig. 12.41) interlock systems. Unscrew the mounting bolt (dark arrow, Fig. 12.42) and remove the ignition switch. Release the retainer and disconnect the ignition switch.

Chisel off the heads of disposable screws (arrows, Fig. 12.43). Remove the plate (1) and the steering column lock (2). Remove the lock cylinder and install it in the new lock.
Remove the protective varnish, unscrew the countersunk screws (arrows, Fig. 12.44) and install the ignition switch on the new steering shaft lock.
When installing, cover the heads of the countersunk screws with paint. Tighten disposable screws until their heads break off at the neck.
