Checking the voltage stabilizer (BMW X5 E53)

The voltage stabilizer is designed to maintain the operating voltage of the instrument panel supply in the range of 9.75–10.25 V and is part of the instrument panel EC. The stabilizer operation must be checked when the fuel level and coolant temperature indicators give clearly incorrect values. Check only at a service station.

In case of failure of the voltage stabilizer, it is subject to replacement as part of the EB or the entire instrument panel. When replacing the EB, carry out coding of the instrument panel at the service station.
