The car is loaded with a mass of 75 kg, in the driver's seat. Fuel tank is full (at least 90%). Load the front of the car by pressing it down with force several times. Check that the headlights are correctly aligned with the hood (gaps). Set the headlight beam leveling switch to «0» (see fig. 1.21), if an automatic headlight beam throw adjustment system is provided, then after turning on the headlights, wait approximately 30 seconds, when installing xenon headlights - 80 seconds.
Align the adjustment device along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, parallel to the plane on which the vehicle is standing. Set risk (M, fig. 16.6) on the device for size (e). The divisions of the scale on the device show the slope in cm at a distance of 10 m. The figure shows:
- e - the specified value of the headlight adjustment on the tag (tablet) corresponds to all vehicles 2.0 = 20 cm / 10 m = 20 on the headlight adjustment device. Introduced for all European countries;
- H is the height of the middle of the light beam above the vehicle installation plane;
- h – (Not) mark height above the vehicle installation plane;
- + – the central label = the center of a headlight of a driving beam;
- M - the risk of the device for adjusting the headlights;
- S is the installation plane of the car and the headlight adjustment device.
Adjust the headlights in the dipped beam mode with screws (1 and 2, fig. 16.7). Screw (1) height, screw (2) horizontally. The deviation of the horizontal axis of the light beam down from the horizontal axis of the headlights on the car at a distance of 10 m should be: for the main headlights 10 cm; for fog lights - 20 cm.
