The car is loaded with a mass of 75 kg, on the driver's seat. The fuel tank is completely filled (at least 90%). Load the front of the car by pressing it down with force several times. Check the correct alignment of the headlights relative to the hood (gaps). Set the headlight angle adjuster switch to "0" (see fig. 1.21), if an automatic headlight leveling system is provided, then after turning on the headlights, wait approximately 30 seconds; when installing xenon headlights – 80 seconds.

Set the adjustment device along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, parallel to the plane on which the vehicle is located. Set the mark (M, Fig. 16.6) on the device by size (e). The divisions of the scale on the device show the slope in cm at a distance of 10 m. The figure shows:

- e – the specified value of headlight adjustment according to the tag (plate) corresponds for all vehicles 2.0 = 20 cm / 10 m = 20 on the headlight adjustment device. Introduced for all European countries;
- H – height of the center of the light beam above the vehicle installation plane;
- h – (H-th) height of the mark above the vehicle installation plane;
- + – center mark = center of high beam headlight;
- M – risk of the headlight adjustment device;
- S – plane of installation of the vehicle and headlight adjustment device.
Adjust the headlights in low beam mode using the screws (1 and 2, Fig. 16.7). Screw (1) for height, screw (2) for horizontal. The deviation of the horizontal axis of the light beam downwards from the horizontal axis of the headlights on the vehicle at a distance of 10 m should be: for main headlights 10 cm; for fog lights – 20 cm.
