Central lock (BMW X5 E53)

            0

The central locking system simultaneously locks and unlocks the doors, the upper trunk lid and the fuel filler flap. It only works if both front doors are closed. It can be activated from the outside by inserting the key into the door lock. In the event of an accident, the central locking system is automatically unlocked. Doors locked with safety catches do not open.

The central locking system can be activated from inside the car, with the front doors closed, by pressing a button (6, see Fig. 1.10) on the center console. This unlocks or locks all doors, the trunk lid, and the fuel filler flap.
