Remove the rear wheels.
Release the parking brake completely.
Turn the left wheel brake disc so that the inspection hole is at the top and approximately 10° from the vertical towards the rear of the vehicle.
Turn the right wheel disc so that the inspection hole is at the top and is tilted 10° from the vertical towards the front of the car.
Using a screwdriver, turn the clearance adjustment nut through the inspection hole so that the parking brake shoes are pressed against the drum.
Turn the adjusting nut 4-6 notches in the opposite direction to allow the brake disc to rotate freely.
Remove the rubber protective cover of the parking brake lever in the passenger compartment and loosen the lock nut securing the cable.
Raise the drive lever to the 5th tooth.
Tighten the cable tension adjustment nut to a torque of 0.16+0.02 kgf·m, tighten the lock nut.
Make sure the rear wheels turn freely when the parking brake is released.
Apply the parking brake lightly and manually turn the rear wheels to ensure that both legs of the drive cable have equal tension.
