Some of the latest models are equipped with an airbag, or a Safety Assist System (SRS). To avoid possible damage to this system, the manufacturer recommends that for models with airbags, the procedure described below be left to the competence of the dealer service department or body shop, because. it requires the use of special equipment and technologies. There is also a risk of injury if the airbag mechanism is accidentally deployed.
If your vehicle's radio is equipped with an anti-theft system, make sure you have entered the correct code before disconnecting the battery cable. See section for information Anti-theft audio system and instrument panel language before disconnecting the wire.
If after connecting the wire on your instrument panel there are inscriptions in the wrong language that you need, refer to Section Anti-theft audio system and instrument panel language, for instructions on how to set the desired language.
Disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the steering wheel (see chapter Steering) and steering column covers (see chapter Body).
Turn signal/headlight switch
1. Loosen the switch mounting screws where necessary. Squeeze the tabs and pull the switch out of the steering column mount.
2. Follow the switch wires down the steering column to the electrical connector and disconnect the wires.
3. Install in reverse order.
Wiper/washer switch
1. Loosen the switch mounting screws where necessary.
2. Squeeze out a fixing clip and remove the switch from fastening of a steering column. Follow the switch wires down to the connector and disconnect the wires.
3. Install in reverse order.
Speed Control Switch
1. Remove the wiper/washer switch.
2. Loosen the switch mounting screw where necessary. Squeeze the mounting tabs and pull the switch out of the mount.
3. Disconnect the switch electrical connector from the wiring at the base of the steering column.
4. Install in reverse order.
