Some of the latest models are equipped with an airbag, or a Safety Assist System (SRS). To avoid possible damage to this system, the manufacturer recommends that for models with airbags, the procedure described below be left to the competence of the dealer service department or body shop, because. it requires the use of special equipment and technologies. There is also a risk of injury if the airbag mechanism is accidentally deployed.
The turn signal/alarm switch block is a small, box-shaped assembly located in the wiring in or near the steering column. Access to it is provided after removing the casings of the steering column. To remove it, squeeze the tabs.
When the breaker unit is functioning properly, uniform clicks should be heard when the direction indicators or alarms are turned on. If one of the direction indicators fails and the breaker does not make characteristic clicks, this indicates that the signal lamp has failed.
If both turn signals do not light, then the problem may be a blown fuse, a broken breaker box, a broken switch, or poor contact and open circuit. If a quick check of the fuse box shows that the turn signal circuit fuse is blown, check the wiring for a short circuit before replacing it.
Make sure the new breaker box is identical to the one being replaced. Compare the old block with the new one before replacing it.
Install in reverse order.
