Replacing the hazard warning lights and central lock switches (BMW X5 E53)

Removing the hazard warning lights and central lock switches located on the central console (between the front seats) must be carried out in the following order. Remove the gear shift lever cover (manual transmission) or gear selector (automatic transmission) and push out the switch (1, Fig. 16.19) hazard warning lights and central locking through the hole formed after removing the gearshift lever cover. Disconnect the switch loops. The switches on the central console should be installed in the reverse order, and their operation should be checked after installation.
