Note: Since the trunk lid is adjusted and secured at the factory with unpainted body parts, subsequent movement of the lid may expose unpainted surfaces.
Loosen the screws securing the trunk lid lock.

If limiting buffers with flaps are installed, the flaps need to be pressed into the buffers and turned slightly to the left with a Phillips-head screwdriver. As a result, the flaps are locked in the buffers.
Turn out the limiting buffer.
Caution: Take measures to prevent the luggage compartment lid from falling unintentionally when the gas-filled shock absorber is removed.
Remove the gas-filled shock absorber.
Note: The shock absorbers are pre-compressed.

Loosen screws "1" and "2" on the left and right.

Loosen the fastening screws "1" of the lower part of the trunk lid lock so that the lock can be moved sideways and in height. To do this, remove the trim on the rear trim of the lid. The figure shows the lower part of the lock with the trim removed.
Carefully close the luggage compartment lid and move it to the side so that the gaps on the left and right at the joints with the wings are the same and parallel (the tolerance is±1 mm).
Carefully open the trunk lid.
Tighten the screws securing the lower part of the trunk lid lock.
Close the trunk lid, check the adjustment and repeat if necessary.
Open the trunk lid.
Check sliding elements "2" of the lower part of the trunk lid lock for damage and replace if necessary.
Close the trunk lid.
Check the position of the trunk lid relative to the wings in height. The deviation in height should not exceed±1 mm.
Otherwise, measure the deviation and reposition the lower part of the trunk lid lock accordingly.
Check the cover adjustment and repeat if necessary.
Open the trunk lid.
Screw in the limiting buffers so that when closed, the luggage compartment lid on the left and right rests against the buffers.
Caution: The cover must not be positioned higher than the wings, otherwise it will be subject to increased stress.
For limiting buffers with flaps, you can easily turn the flaps to the right using a Phillips screwdriver. This releases the lock and the flaps move outward.
