Withdrawal
Mark the position of the front wheel in relation to the hub with paint. This will allow the balanced wheel to return to its original position. When loosening the wheel bolts, the vehicle must be on its wheels. Raise the car from the front and remove the front wheel.
Remove the nut from the tie rod joint pin at the swivel bearing.
Press the ball joint pin of the tie rod end downwards using a standard pressing tool, eg HAZET 779-1.
Release the clamp and slide the bellow back.
Push the toothed rack in as far as possible.
Unscrew tie rod -arrow-.
Installation
Measure the old tie rod. For a new tie rod, screw in the tip until the original dimension is reached. Lock the tie rod end.
Tighten the tie rod end locknut to 45 Nm.
If required, degrease the ball joint pin of the tie rod end, as well as its seat in the swivel bearing.
Check the bellows and replace with a new one if necessary.
Wrap the tie rod into the rack and tighten to 70 Nm.
Put on the corrugated cover and tighten with a new clamp. Make sure that the corrugated cover does not have holes.
Insert the tie rod end into the swivel bearing, screw in a new self-locking nut and tighten to 65 Nm.
Screw on the front wheel. Do not grease wheel bolts. Attach the wheel so that the marks applied before removal coincide. Lower vehicle, tighten wheel bolts crosswise to 100 Nm.
Adjust wheel alignment.
