Replacing the turbocharger pressure transducer (BMW X5 E53)

Caution! The installed boost air hoses must be clean, dry and free of grease.


The replacement of the TC pressure transducer must be carried out in the following order. Read information from the fault memory of the "DDE" system.

Loosen the clamp and disconnect the vacuum hose (5, see Fig. 6.152), black. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the vacuum hose (4), blue. Disconnect the SS, unscrew the nut and remove the pressure converter (3).

The pressure converter (3) should be installed in the reverse order, with the vacuum hoses installed in their places. There is a blue rubber ring on the converter for installing the blue vacuum hose.

Tighten the vacuum hose clamps to 6.0 N·m (0.6 kgf·m). Assemble the engine. Read information from the DDE ECU fault memory. Check the recorded fault messages and eliminate them.

Erase information from the fault memory of the DDE system ECU and check the operation of the DDE system.
