2. Fix the hood in the extreme upper position. To do this, disconnect the damper from it, open the hood completely and secure it with bolts on the left and right (see Fig. illustration).
3. Remove the heat shields on the left and right sides of the front axle beam.
4. Drain the cooling system (see chapter Vehicle settings and routine maintenance).
5. Remove the manual transmission or AT.
6. Remove the engine cooling system radiator (see chapter Engine cooling, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems).
7. Remove the air cleaner covers together with the MAF sensor (see chapter Fuel and exhaust systems).
8. Remove the full flow oil filter.
9. Disconnect the cooling system hose from the engine (above the generator).

10. Disconnect the cooling system hoses from the heater radiator.

11. Disconnect the hose from the rear of the engine cooling system manifold.
12. Remove the heater valve block assembly from the holder (see paragraphs 3-5 of Section Removal and installation the torsional vibration damper and its hub).
13. Disconnect the engine wiring harness connector.
14. Disconnect the positive cable between the starter and the generator and remove the positive battery cable in the engine compartment.
15. Remove the exhaust manifolds (see section Removal and installation of exhaust manifolds).
16. Remove the drive belts (see section Removal and installation drive belts).
17. Remove the generator blower pipe.
18. Remove the power steering pump (see chapter Suspension and steering).
19. Disconnect the air conditioning compressor from the support bracket and hang it on a wire to the side without disconnecting the pipes.
20. Attach a device to the engine lifting eyes to support it.

21. Disconnect the ground wire from the right engine mount and unscrew the upper nuts of the left and right engine mount cushions.
22. Using a lifting device, remove the engine from the engine compartment.
Be careful not to damage components in the engine compartment when lifting the engine.
23. Installation is performed in the reverse order of component dismantling. Make sure the support cushions are intact and replace them if necessary.
24. After installation, before starting the engine, check the levels of the working fluids and adjust them if necessary.
25. Start the engine and check for fuel and fluid leaks, abnormal noises and vibrations.
26. Let the engine idle, then turn it off and check the fluid levels again.
