Attention! All work should be performed only on a cold engine, observing safety precautions for handling antifreeze.
The replacement of the additional pump of the cabin heating system must be carried out in the following order: Remove the air filter housing (only for "M54").
Disconnect the power steering pump reservoir and the full-flow oil filter housing. Disconnect the oil level sensor SS. Unscrew the screws (1, Fig. 17.23) and remove the reinforcement (2) of the wing mudguard (only for "M62" and "N62").
For all vehicles. Drain the engine cooling system, remove the casing (1, Fig. 17.24). Unlock and disconnect the pump activation SS (2). Remove the additional pump (3) from the mount (4) in the direction indicated by the arrow. Open the quick-release couplings and disconnect the coolant hoses (5) from the additional pump (3).
The installation of the additional heating system pump should be carried out in the reverse order, while it is necessary to pay attention to the correct position of the additional pump (3) in the mount (4). Fill the coolant and bleed the cooling system.
