1 - valve; 2 - oil scraper cap; 3 - lower spring plate; 4 - valve spring; 5 - upper spring plate; 6 - crackers
Attention! Mark all parts removed from the engine cylinder head and arrange them according to the numbering of the cylinders.
Removal of the valve must be carried out in the following order. Remove cylinder head and camshafts. Mark and remove hydraulic pushers. Remove with special pliers - tool «11.1.480» (pic. 3.125) valve stem seals from valve guides.
Depress the valve spring using special pliers or a standard tool (see fig. 3.129) and take out the breadcrumbs.
Remove top plate (5, see fig. 3.124) valve springs.
1 - valve; 2 - oil scraper cap; 3 - lower spring plate; 4 - valve spring; 5 - upper spring plate; 6 - crackers
Remove spring (4) valve. Remove valve (1) from the combustion chamber in the cylinder head. Remove bottom plate (3) valve. Remove all valves one by one.
The valves should be installed in the reverse order, while checking the clearance (see fig. 3.7) valve stem/guide and, if necessary, re-tighten the valve guides by reaming them (see fig. 3.70).
Install (temporarily) valve and check and, if necessary, restore the tightness of the valve to its seat by lapping (see fig. 3.6).
Remove the installed valve and remove traces of the process of restoring the tightness of its landing.
Attention! If the new valve spring plates have sharp inner edges, they must be removed before placing the plate on the engine cylinder head.
Remove sharp edges from the grooves of the valve stem under the crackers. Install the valve after lubricating its stem and guide with engine oil. Install a new oil seal.
Install the lower valve plate and its spring. The upper and lower plate of the valve spring are different, because the spring is conical. The spring rests on the cylinder head with its large diameter.
Install the upper valve spring cap. besiege (squeeze) valve spring with special pliers and install crackers so that they fully enter the grooves on the valve stem. Gently release the tongs, strictly following the position of the crackers.
Install the rest of the valves in the same way. Do not confuse intake and exhaust valves and their installation locations.
Lubricate the hydraulic tappets with engine oil and install them in their original places according to the markings.
Install camshafts. Check the axial clearance of the camshafts, the principle of its measurement is shown in fig. 3.87.
Replace the cylinder head gasket with a new one. Assemble the engine.
