Replacing the oil pressure sensor (BMW X5 E53)

The oil pressure indicator sensor must be replaced in the following order. Protect the generator from contamination. Prepare a container and rag to collect the oil. Unscrew the oil filter cover mounting bolt.

Disconnect the SS (1, Fig. 6.139) and remove the oil pressure indicator sensor (2).



Collect the leaked oil and send it for disposal.

The installation of the oil pressure indicator sensor should be carried out in the reverse order, while the sensor (M12x1.5) should be tightened to a torque of 27 N·m (2.7 kgf·m).

Assemble the engine. Check the engine oil level.

Check the operation of the pressure indicator sensor and its tightness.
