Replacing the hydraulic accumulator pressure sensor (BMW X5 E53)

The pressure sensor in the injection system hydraulic accumulator must be replaced in the following order: Protect the generator from contamination, remove the intake manifold and close the intake channels.

Disconnect the SS (1, Fig. 6.138). Holding the pressure sensor from turning by the hexagon (2), unscrew the hexagonal threaded fastening (3) on the hydraulic accumulator and remove the pressure sensor.

When installing, fix the pressure sensor in its original position and hold it from turning by the hexagon (2) and tighten the hexagonal threaded connection (3) to a torque of 70 N·m (7.0 kgf·m). Assemble the engine.

If you have a sensor of the "EU4" series, perform a correction and reset the average fuel quantity value. Check the DME system for operation.
