Replacing the throttle body seal (BMW X5 E53)

The throttle body seal replacement must be carried out in the following order.

Turn off the ignition, remove the air duct (see above) and disconnect the plug connector (SHS, 1, see Figure 4.117) from the throttle body.

Loosen the bolts (2) and remove the throttle body.

Check the sealing ring (1, Fig. 4.118) on the throttle body (2) for correct installation and absence of damage and replace it if necessary.

Caution! To facilitate installation, lubricate the sealing ring (3) with a lubricant to facilitate the sliding of rubber, such as technical petroleum jelly.
