Tightening torques for automatic transmission connections (BMW X5 E53)

Rear cover of automatic transmission:

• all M8 - 25 Nm.

Bell-shaped housing of the torque converter:

• all M8 - 25 Nm.

Threaded plug in the automatic transmission oil pan:

• all M10 - 16 Nm;
• "440Z" M12 - 23 Nm.

Oil pan:

• "440Z" M6 - 10 Nm.

Threaded plug of the automatic transmission filler hole:

• "440Z" M18x1.5 — 35 Nm.

Secondary (output) shaft flange spline nut:

• "440Z" - 120 Nm;

Secondary (output) shaft flange nut with elastic washer:

• "390R" - 60 Nm;
• all - 100 Nm.

Mesh oil filter:

• "440Z" - 5.0 Nm;
• all - 8.0 Nm.

Hollow screw:

• "440Z" M18x1.5 — 25 Nm.

Bolt with union nut:

• "440Z" M18x1.5 — 20 Nm.

Regulator flange for automatic transmission:

• all M8 - 16 Nm.

Set screw in the centrifugal regulator of the automatic transmission:

• all M6 - 3.0 Nm.

Set screw nut on the automatic transmission centrifugal adjuster:

• all - 10 Nm.

Hex head bolt in centrifugal regulator:

• all M6 - 11 Nm.

Guide plate of the automatic transmission parking lock mechanism:

• "440Z" M6 - 10 Nm.

Pulse sensor of automatic transmission shaft speed:

• "440Z" M5 - 5.0 Nm.

Flange of electromagnetic valves and pressure regulator to hydraulic control unit:

• "440Z" M5 - 5.0 Nm.

Torque converter to plate (flywheel):

• "440Z" M10 - 45 Nm;
• "390R" M10 - 49 Nm.

Cross beam to the body:

• all - 41 Nm.

Rubber-metal joint to the cross beam and gearbox:

• all M12 - 74 Nm.
