Warning! It is prohibited to disassemble the gear shift bracket.
Do not turn the selector handle when removing it, otherwise the lock located in it will be cut off. The adjustment of the bracket rod of the gearshift mechanism of the "Interlock" system must be carried out in the following order. Set the automatic transmission control selector to the "P" position. Remove the selector handle with a strong upward movement. Remove the cover (1, Fig. 9.84) with protective cover (2) from the central console. Disconnect the shock absorbers and remove the trim.

Check the position of the automatic transmission control selector in the "P" position. Set the ignition key to the "0" position and remove it. Loosen the bolt (1, Fig. 9.85), the rod (4) should move easily in the bracket (3). Press the lever (2) of the "Interlock" system down until it stops and tighten the bolt (1) to a torque of 7.0 N·m (0.7 kgf·m).

Check the operation of the "Interlock" system in the following order:
- remove the ignition key or set it to position "0", while the control selector should not move out of position "P";
- move the ignition key to the "Ignition" position, press the brake pedal, the selector should be able to move to any of the positions:
- set the control selector to all positions except "P", while in none of these positions the ignition key should be turned back to position "0" and removed;
- set the control selector to position "P" and the ignition key should return (turn) back to position "0" and remove.
If necessary, the "Interlock" system traction should be readjusted.

To install the handle, you need to move the cover (1, see Fig. 9.83) down so that the groove (2) on the selector is completely exposed. Place the handle on the control selector, align it and press it firmly so that it noticeably clicks into place on the automatic transmission gear selector.
