Caution! Replace the parking brake pads on both wheels at the same time.
Removal of the parking brake pads must be carried out in the following order. Prepare the device "34.4.000", remove the rear brake discs, mark the location of the tension springs, disconnect their ends from the pads (arrows, Fig. 11.38) and remove the springs. Check the springs for signs of corrosion, replace them if necessary.

Using the device "34.4.000" (or a 5mm socket wrench), slightly compress the spring, turn its pin 90° and remove the pin (fig. 11.39). Remove the spring from the shoe. Remove the springs from the remaining brake shoes in a similar manner.

Spread both brake shoes at the top and pull them together, first for one wheel, then for the other. Check the ease of movement of the release mechanism, remove it and replace it if necessary. To remove, it is necessary to move the release mechanism (1, Fig. 11.40) forward, disconnect the parking brake drive cable (2) and remove the release mechanism.

The installation of the parking brake shoes should be carried out in the reverse order, while ensuring that the adjusting screws are in the correct position (2, Fig. 11.41). The right wheel is shown in the picture, the left wheel looks the same, but in mirror image. Lubricate the threaded bushing (1) and the adjusting screw (2) with anti-corrosion grease such as "Molykote". Adjust the parking brake and run in new brake shoes as described above.
