Attention! The parking brake pads must be replaced on both wheels at the same time.
Removing the parking brake pads must be carried out in the following order. Prepare fixture «34.4.000», remove the rear brake discs, mark the location of the coupling springs, disconnect their ends from the pads (arrows, fig. 11.38) and remove the springs. Check springs for signs of corrosion and replace if necessary.
Using fixture «34.4.000» (or socket wrench 5 mm), press the spring slightly, turn its pin by 90°and remove the pin (pic. 11.39). Remove the spring from the block. Remove the springs from the remaining brake pads in the same way.
Spread both brake pads at the top and pull them off, first for one wheel, then for the other. Check the ease of movement of the expanding mechanism, if necessary, remove it and replace it. To remove, you need to move the expansion mechanism (1, fig. 11.40) forward, from connect the rope (2) parking brake actuator and remove the spreader mechanism.
Installation of parking brake pads should be carried out in reverse order, while making sure that the adjusting screws are in the correct position (2, fig. 11.41). The figure shows the right wheel, the left wheel looks the same, but in a mirror image. Lubricate threaded bush (1) and adjusting screw (2) grease anti-corrosion type «Molykote». Adjust the parking brake and run in new brake pads as described above.
