Checking engine oil pressure (BMW X5 E53)
Checking the engine oil pressure should be done in the following order. Prepare the tools "11.4.050", "13.3.061", "13.3.063", "13.6.051" and "13.6.054". Unscrew the filter cover and let the oil drain from the filter housing into the oil pan. Unscrew the oil pressure indicator sensor. Install the "11.4.050" device with a new sealing ring instead of the oil pressure indicator sensor.
Check the oil pressure using a DIS tester, for which install the device "13.6.054" with a sealing ring (1, Fig. 3.35) to the device "13.6.051" and connect the DIS tester to the engine. Further operations according to the Instructions for the stand.
Check the oil pressure using a pressure gauge, for which install the device "13.3.063" and the device "13.3.061" (pressure gauge). Check and restore the oil level. Tighten the filter cover with a torque of 33 N·m (3.3 kgf·m). Start the engine and check the oil pressure, which should be at least 0.5 bar (kgf/cm²) in idle mode and 4.0 bar (kgf/cm²) in full load mode.
The engine should be assembled in the reverse order, while it is necessary to unscrew the filter cover and let the oil drain. Remove the device "11.4.050". Install the pressure indicator sensor with a new sealing ring and tighten it to a torque of 27 N·m (2.7 kgf·m). Check the oil level, restore it if necessary. Replace the sealing ring and tighten the filter cover to a torque of 33 N·m (3.3 kgf·m). Start the engine, bring it to full load mode, make a test drive, and check for oil leaks.
Using the DIS tester
Check the oil pressure using a DIS tester, for which install the device "13.6.054" with a sealing ring (1, Fig. 3.35) to the device "13.6.051" and connect the DIS tester to the engine. Further operations according to the Instructions for the stand.

Using a pressure gauge
Check the oil pressure using a pressure gauge, for which install the device "13.3.063" and the device "13.3.061" (pressure gauge). Check and restore the oil level. Tighten the filter cover with a torque of 33 N·m (3.3 kgf·m). Start the engine and check the oil pressure, which should be at least 0.5 bar (kgf/cm²) in idle mode and 4.0 bar (kgf/cm²) in full load mode.
