Attention! It is not allowed to introduce additional additives of any kind into fuels and oils intended by the company «BMW-AG» for their cars.
On car models, an oil pressure control system is used, which monitors oil pressure, depending on the engine speed. The oil pressure in idling mode with a warm engine must be at least 0.5 kgf / cm2. If the engine speed is greater than or equal to the idle speed and the pressure is less than 0.5 kgf/cm2, the oil pressure warning light flashes on the instrument panel. At the maximum engine speed, 5000 - 6000 min-1, the oil pressure should be within 4.0 - 4.7 kgf / cm2.
The oil pressure sensor is always installed with a new gasket and tightened to 20 Nm (2.0 kgf·m). Additionally, on the engine «N62B48» An oil level sensor is installed in the oil pan.
The main reasons for the blinking indicator can be:
- low oil level;
- malfunction of pressure sensors;
- malfunction of the oil pump drive;
- oil pump malfunction;
- increased wear of the crankshaft bearings.
Oil is poured into the engine oil pan through the plug on the cylinder head cover. Engine lubrication capacity (including 0.5 l in oil filter) - 8.0 l.
