Carry out the preparatory operations described in subsection «Checking the valve timing of the left cylinder head». Remove the left cylinder head timing cover.
When loosening bolts (arrows, fig. 5.127) keep the camshafts from turning by the hexagon. Loosen the bolts (arrows) fastening of actuating knots of release and admission.
Prepare a kit «11.9.460» for fixing camshafts, which includes:
- «11.9.461» for fixing the intake camshaft;
- «11.9.462» for fixing the exhaust camshaft;
- «11.9.463» (bracket with screw).
Install fixture «11.9.461» on the intake camshaft (pic. 5.128) and align the intake camshaft so that the tool «11.9.461» without gaps lay down on a head of the block of cylinders. Install fixture «11.9.463», by screwing it in (1) threaded hole for the oil line and hand-tighten.
Tighten a new bolt M10x1.0 fastening the air inlet control unit to a torque of 80 Nm (8.0 kgf·m), while holding the camshaft against turning by the hexagon.
Loosen the bolt and remove the tools «11.9.463» And «11.9.461» from the intake camshaft.
Install fixture «11.9.462» on the exhaust camshaft (pic. 5.129) and align the exhaust camshaft so that the tool «11.9.462» without gaps lay on the cylinder head.
Install fixture «11.9.463» and screw it in (1) threaded hole for the oil line and hand-tighten.
Tighten bolt M10x1.0 (2) fastening of an executive knot of release by the moment of 80 Nm (8.0 kgf·m), while holding the camshaft against turning by the hexagon. Remove bolt (1), remove fixtures «11.9.463» And «11.9.462» from the exhaust camshaft.
Remove tool «11.9.190» (pic. 5.130). Turn the crankshaft at the central bolt in the direction of rotation two full turns (720°) until the piston of the 1st cylinder is reset to the TDC position of the end of the compression stroke. Fix the vibration damper with the tool «11.9.190» at the position of the piston of the 1st cylinder at the TDC of the end of the compression stroke.
Install fixture «11.9.461» (see fig. 5.128) on the intake camshaft and check the valve timing.
The valve timing is set correctly if the tool «11.9.461» is flush with the cylinder head or is raised by a maximum of 0.5 mm relative to the exhaust side.
Remove tool «11.9.461» from the intake camshaft.
Install fixture «11.9.462» (pic. 5.129) on the exhaust camshaft and check the valve timing.
The valve timing is set correctly if the tool «11.9.462» is flush with the cylinder head or is raised by a maximum of 0.5 mm relative to the exhaust side.
Remove all attachments and assemble the engine.
