Replacing engine mount brackets (BMW X5 E53)

The left engine mount bracket must be replaced in the following order. Secure the engine in the installation position using the "00.0.200" tool. Remove both front wheels, the front engine accessory protection panel and the stiffening plate. Remove the exhaust system, front axle reducer and left exhaust manifold.

Lower the front axle beam. Remove the bolts (1, Fig. 5.200), unscrew the upper fastening (3) of both engine mounting cushions, disconnect the jumper connection to the ground and unscrew the bolts (2) securing the engine support bearing bracket.

When installing the brackets, clean the contact surfaces to ensure reliable connection of the engine to the ground. Tighten the mounting bolts M8 (8.8) to a torque of 38 N·m (3.8 kgf·m), bolts M8 (10.9) to a torque of 30 N·m (3.0 kgf·m), nuts M10 (10.9) to a torque of 56 N·m (5.6 kgf·m).

The replacement of the right engine mount bracket must be carried out in the same way as the replacement of the left engine mount bracket.
