Speedometer and tachometer
Speedometer shows the vehicle speed in km/h; tachometer shows the engine speed in thousands of rpm and is designed to control engine speed - the arrow should not enter the red zone of the scale.
Upshifting earlier saves fuel and reduces engine noise. During the break-in period of the vehicle, too high revolutions of the crankshaft should be avoided. When the critical speed of the crankshaft is reached, the control system automatically cuts off the fuel supply, which is accompanied by a sudden loss of power.
Fuel gauge
The fuel gauge is designed to visually represent fuel consumption (l/100 km), allowing you to draw conclusions about the economy of driving style. When the vehicle is stationary, the pointer needle is at zero.
Fuel reserve indicator and K/L of fuel reserve use
The fuel gauge is used to visually monitor the amount of fuel remaining in the tank. The error in readings of the fuel gauge is minimal when the vehicle is in a strictly horizontal position, and increases when the vehicle is driven on winding or hilly roads. The pointer works when the ignition is on. When the pointer enters the reserve fuel zone, the corresponding C/L is switched on. In this case, the vehicle should be refueled as soon as possible. K / L also turns on when the ignition is turned on and after a short time should go out, indicating that the fuel gauge is working. If K/L does not turn off, there is a reserve volume of fuel left in the tank.
Resettable trip meter and odometer
Resettable odometer allows you to control the mileage of the car, starting from the moment it was reset (e.g. for the current trip). In order to reset the counter, when in position «1» or «2» ignition switch, press the reset button (Location of instrumentation).
Odometer is designed to indicate the total mileage of the vehicle.
Temperature gauge outside the car
This indicator already works when the key is turned in the ignition switch to the position «1». If the reset button is pressed in this position of the ignition key (Location of instrumentation) and while holding it, turn the ignition key to position «0», temperature units are switched. When the temperature drops to about 3°C, to warn of the possibility of ice, the thermometer readings begin to flash and an audible signal sounds. The warning is repeated until the temperature rises to 6°C.
Coolant temperature gauge and K/L engine overheating
Designed to visually represent the coolant temperature in order to prevent engine damage. K/L engine overheating, built into the indicator, lights up when the ignition is turned on and should go out after a short time, indicating that the indicator is working. If the pointer arrow is in the blue zone, i.e. the engine is not warm, avoid driving at high speed and high engine speeds. When the pointer enters the red zone of the scale, the K / L of engine overheating lights up and / or the text display in the instrument cluster displays the message «COOLANT TEMPERATURE». This indicates that the engine is overheating - turn off the engine and let it cool down. Check the coolant level and the cooling system for leaks (see chapter Vehicle settings and routine maintenance). Eliminate the found faults. The normal operating temperature range for an engine is the area between the blue and red zones on the coolant temperature gauge dial.
Text display in instrument cluster
The display in the instrument cluster is designed to display various warnings and fault messages in plain text. The display works when the ignition is on.
Fault messages are divided into two groups according to their priority.
First priority group
Information about these problems is accompanied by an audible signal and flashing signal symbols in the form of triangles along the edges of the display. If there are several faults, the messages and faults are displayed in turn. Messages do not disappear until the defects are corrected and cannot be erased by pressing the automatic diagnostics button (Location of instrumentation). The following is a list of messages in the first priority group (with selected English).
- «RELEASE PARKING BRAKE» (Release the parking brake);
- «COOLANT TEMPERATURE» (Engine overheated, stop engine and repair);

- «LEVEL CONTROL INACTIVE» * (Faulty ride height control system);
- «SPEED LIMIT» * (Speed higher than preset in trip computer).
Second priority group
Warnings in this group appear for about 20 seconds when the ignition is on. After the inscription goes out, signal symbols remain at the edges of the display. To recall messages, press the self-diagnosis button. The following is a list of messages in the first priority group (with selected English).
- «TRUNK LID OPEN» (Trunk open, message appears only when driving off for the first time with the trunk open);
- «DOOR OPEN» (One of the doors is open, the message appears as soon as the speed exceeds a certain insignificant value);
- «FASTEN SEAT BELTS» * (Fasten your seat belts, the corresponding K / L is on at the same time);
- «WASHER FLUID LOW» (Washer fluid low);
- «CHECK ENGINE OIL» (Low engine oil level);
- «OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE -5 °C» (The message appears when the air temperature outside the car is below 3°C, warning of the possibility of ice);
- «TIRE PRESSURE SET» * (Tire inflation pressure setting, see Section Controls and interior equipment);
- «CHECK TIRE PRESSURE» * (Check tire inflation pressure);
- «TIRE CHECK INACTIVE» * (Malfunction in the RDC system, see Section Controls and interior equipment);
- «BREAK LAMP CIRCUIT» (Malfunction in a chain of stoplights, or the lamp of a stoplight has fused);
- «CHECK LOWBEAMS» (Malfunction in a chain of a passing beam of headlights);
- «CHECK SIDE LAMPS» (Malfunction in a chain of marker lights);
- «CHECK REAR LAMPS» (Malfunction in a chain of back lanterns);
- «CHECK FRONT FOGLAMP» (Malfunction in a chain of fog lamps);
- «CHECK LICPLATE LAMP» (Malfunction in a chain of illumination of license plate);
- «CHECK TRAILER LIGHTS» (Malfunction in the trailer lighting circuit);
- «CHECK HIGHBEAMS» (Malfunction in a chain of a driving beam of headlights);
- «CHECK BACKUP LIGHTS» (Malfunction in a chain of lanterns of a backing);
- «TRANS. FAILSAFE PROG» (Emergency transmission control program);
- «CHECK BRAKE LININGS» (Check the brake pads, see Chapter Brake system)
- «CHECK COOLANT LEVEL» (Coolant level low, add coolant and repair as needed);
- «ENGINE FAILSAFE PROG» (ECM running in emergency program).
Messages at the end of the trip
All fault messages that appeared during the trip appear one after the other on the display after turning the ignition key to position «0».
When the driver's door is opened at the end of a trip, one of the following indications may also be displayed, accompanied by an audible signal:
- «LIGHTS ON» (Lighting not turned off);
- «KEY IN IGNITION LOCK» (Key not removed from ignition);
- «CHECK ENGINE OIL LEV» (Check the engine oil level at the next refueling).
Using the diagnostic button, messages can be called up for about three minutes after the end of the trip, even if the key has already been removed from the ignition and the display has gone out. If there are several messages, press the diagnostic button several times.
Checking the health of the self-diagnosis system
If, after turning the ignition key to position «2» press the diagnostic button, the display should show confirmation that the system is working («CHECK CONTROL OK»).
Control lamps and indicators
K/L and the indicators located in a combination of devices are described below. familiar «*» K / L and indicators are marked, which light up when the ignition is turned on for a while in order to check the performance and go out after a few seconds. If any K / L does not turn on during the check, this may mean that it has burned out, or there is an open circuit in its circuit.
C/L red*
When you turn on the K / L data, you should stop the car as soon as possible and eliminate the malfunctions.
- K / L of the charge system, its inclusion while driving indicates a malfunction in the charge circuit (breakage of electrical wiring, generator malfunction, breakage or slackening of the generator drive belt). A defect in the alternator drive belt is also indicated by the need to apply great effort to turn the steering wheel. It is not allowed to move in case of a malfunction of the generator drive, because. this may cause the engine to overheat.
— K/L of low pressure of impellent oil, its inclusion at the working engine indicates low pressure of impellent oil and is followed by the corresponding message on the text display. Check and, if necessary, correct the engine oil level (see Section Access, protection). If the level is within the normal range, contact the service station for diagnostics and engine repair. Continuation of the movement with the engine running is not allowed, because. this will cause it to break due to lack of lubrication.
BRAKE or C/L low brake fluid level or brake pad wear, accompanied by a corresponding message on the text display.
C/L and red indicators
K/L data and indicators indicate important points when driving.
PARK BRAKE or Parking brake applied indicator, on when the parking brake is applied.
* R/L of unfastened seat belts (see Section Seat belts), not available on all models.
K/L SRS system (see Section Additional security system (SRS)).
K/L and yellow indicators*
K/L data and indicators indicate the need to check the relevant vehicle system as soon as possible.
BRAKE or K/L DBC system (dynamic brake control), its activation indicates a malfunction in the DBC system. In this case, the brake system continues to work properly.
ABS or R/L of the ABS system, its activation indicates that the system has been disabled due to a malfunction. In this case, the brake system continues to work properly.
C/L of ASC T/DSC systems, if this C/L does not turn off after starting the engine or lights up while driving, the system is faulty or turned off forcibly (see Section Controls and interior equipment). Blinking A/L indicates system activity.
SERVICE ENGINE SOON or
C/L of the OBD system, the inclusion of this C/L indicates a malfunction in the power system. Although the vehicle remains in working order, the engine management system should be diagnosed and/or repaired as soon as possible.
