The vehicle is equipped with an electronic damper control system (EDC) pneumatic type, which almost immediately reconfigures the stiffness of the shock absorbers to the existing conditions of the surface or driving style. All movements of the car body, such as speed, vertical accelerations of the body, braking pressure, loads, steering angle and movement of the gas pedal, are constantly monitored by sensors. Based on the information coming from them, the ECU generates commands to the shock absorber, the force, the damping of which is set to «tough», «average» or «soft». The general layout of the front axle is shown in Figure 13.1.
Attention! The front and rear suspensions of the vehicle are made of aluminum alloy, so the following operating conditions must be met:
- prevent contact of the suspension with AB electrolyte;
- to clean the suspension, use a brush made of brass or stainless steel;
- close the suspension to prevent sparks from abrasive cutting tools and electric welding from getting on it;
- Do not expose suspension elements to temperatures above +80°C.
The design of the front suspension of the car is shown in Figure 13.2.
